Spin Peltier effect and its length scale in Pt/YIG system at high temperatures

چکیده
The temperature and yttrium-iron-garnet (YIG) thickness dependences of the spin Peltier effect (SPE) have been investigated using a Pt/YIG junction system at temperatures ranging from room to Curie YIG by lock-in thermography method. By analyzing dependence an exponential decay model, characteristic length SPE in is estimated be 0.9 $\mu$m near almost constant even temperature. high-temperature behavior clearly different that Seebeck effect, providing clue for microscopically understanding reciprocal relation between them.

Length scale dependent diffusion in the Andersonmodel at high temperatures
We investigate a single particle on a 3-dimensional, cubic lattice with a random on-site potential (3D Anderson model). We concretely address the question whether or not the dynamics of the particle is in full accord with the diffusion equation. Our approach is based on the time-convolutionless (TCL) projection operator technique and allows for a detailed investigation of this question at high ...
متن کاملThermal imaging of spin Peltier effect
The Peltier effect modulates the temperature of a junction comprising two different conductors in response to charge currents across the junction, which is used in solid-state heat pumps and temperature controllers in electronics. Recently, in spintronics, a spin counterpart of the Peltier effect was observed. The 'spin Peltier effect' modulates the temperature of a magnetic junction in respons...
متن کاملLength Scale of the Spin Seebeck Effect.
We investigate the origin of the spin Seebeck effect in yttrium iron garnet (YIG) samples for film thicknesses from 20 nm to 50 μm at room temperature and 50 K. Our results reveal a characteristic increase of the longitudinal spin Seebeck effect amplitude with the thickness of the insulating ferrimagnetic YIG, which levels off at a critical thickness that increases with decreasing temperature....
متن کاملObservation of the spin Peltier effect for magnetic insulators.
We report the observation of the spin Peltier effect (SPE) in the ferrimagnetic insulator yttrium iron garnet (YIG), i.e., a heat current generated by a spin current flowing through a platinum (Pt)|YIG interface. The effect can be explained by the spin transfer torque that transforms the spin current in the Pt into a magnon current in the YIG. Via magnon-phonon interactions the magnetic fluctua...
متن کاملIll-deened Block-spin Transformations at Arbitrarily High Temperatures
Examples are presented of block-spin transformations which map the Gibbs measures of the Ising model in two or more dimensions at temperature intervals extending to arbitrarily high temperatures onto non-Gibbsian measures. In this way we provide the rst example of this kind of pathology for very high temperatures, and as a corollary also the rst example of such a pathology happening at a critic...
